The Tauern Cycle Path through the province of Salzburg
If you would like to go on a rather special cycle tour, then the Tauern Cycle Path is one of the most charming cycle routes in the whole of Europe and might be just right for you. The starting point is your holiday resort at St. Johann. From St. Johann you cycle to Werfen, past the Fortress Hohenwerfen, and towards the city of Salzburg. Further along the cycle path continues along the Bavarian Saalach River towards Lofer and Zell am See, with the possibility of visiting the Krimmler Waterfalls. Finally the Tauern Cycle Path leads you back via Schwarzach to St. Johann.
Amadé Cycle Marathon
The Amadé Cycle Marathon is the highlight of the season for all experienced cyclists as well as cycle marathon beginners. With distances of 98 and 176 kilometres you might break into a sweat but you will be rewarded by the beautiful scenery and the surrounding mountainscape. A highlight for leisure cyclists is the Ennsradweg cycle path, the newest of Austria’s river hiking routes.

The Mountainbike-Park in Wagrain is an El Dorado for all cycling fans and you can reach it easily via the Wagrain summer cable cars. This huge bike playground for freerider and downhill MTB fans offers a well-designed mix of trails and obstacles, downhill lines, slope styles, single tracks and north shore trails to name just a few highlights.
